Requires ongoing participation in high-quality learning activities, delivered through article-reading assignments from peer-reviewed literature on clinically relevant patient-management information, best-practice guidelines, and research.

Article Release Schedule
Articles are released in two batches, January and May, though some articles may appear at other times during the year. Diplomates can complete their 10 selections at any point throughout the year as articles become available.
Specialist vs. Subspecialist
Specialist and subspecialist diplomates have different reading assignments tailored to their area of practice. View your assignments below.
Note: Diplomates must select 10 articles and answer 6 corresponding questions per article to fulfill the Part II requirement each year, for a total of 60 questions annually.
Requirement 2
ACE Pilot
The Amplified Continuing Education (ACE) Pilot is an innovative enhancement to ABOG's Continuing Certification (CC) program. It aims to identify and close knowledge gaps for diplomates through zero-pressure knowledge gap assessments.
The ACE Pilot is required for all diplomates participating in CC and is not a separate program. You do not need to opt in when you apply for CC; you will automatically have access to ACE questions through your participation in ABOG's CC program.

Note: ACE questions are used for self-assessment and knowledge-gap identification only. They do not carry pass/fail scoring like the article-based assessments.

Annual Part II Snapshot
What's required across both components, at a glance
Article-Based Assessments
- Read 10 articles, answer 6 questions each (60 total).
- Score 80%+ average to complete CC (48 of 60 correct).
- Below 80%? You'll need to pass the CC Re-Entry Exam the following year.
- 86%+ cumulative (Years 1–5) plus Performance Pathway eligibility waives the Year 6 Part III Exam. Article assessments are still required that year.
- Deadline to complete: 11/15.
- Earn 25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ from ACOG upon successful completion. Non-ACOG members pay a $450 annual administration fee, or may receive CME from another provider at no additional cost.
ACE Pilot
- Answer 60 ACE questions throughout the year, in addition to article-based questions.
- No time limit to answer ACE questions.
- No pass/fail scoring. Used for self-assessment and knowledge-gap identification only.
- Automatically included with CC participation. No opt-in required.
- Deadline to complete: 11/15.
