Article Release Schedule

Articles are released in two batches — January and May — though some articles may appear at other times during the year. Diplomates can complete their 10 selections at any point throughout the year as articles become available.

Specialist vs. Subspecialist

Specialist and subspecialist diplomates have different reading assignments tailored to their area of practice. See the Article Assignments page below for details.

Note: Diplomates must select 10 articles and answer 6 corresponding questions per article to fulfill the Part II requirement each year — for a total of 60 questions annually.

Annual Lifelong Learning and Self-Assessment Snapshot

Read 10 articles.

Answer 6 questions per article (total 60 questions).

Score 80% or higher average to successfully complete CC (48 or more correct answers out of 60).

Scoring below 80% will require taking and passing the CC Re-Entry Exam the following year to regain certification.

Score 86% or higher (cumulative for Years 1–5) and meet all Performance Pathway eligibility criteria will not need to take the CC Part III Exam in Year 6.

Year 6 article-based assessments must still be completed, even if you are not required to take the CC Part III Exam in Year 6.

Deadline to complete article-based assessments: 11/15/2026

Receive 25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) upon successful completion of all CC requirements.

If not an ACOG member, there is an ACOG fee of $450 each year to cover the cost of administration of the CME credit. You may also choose to receive CME from another provider at no additional cost, or choose not to receive CME.
